What is this site?
faketweetgenerator.org is a free set of browser tools for making X (Twitter) post mockups, plus a library of guides and articles about using X in 2026.
The domain hosted a fake tweet generator and a blog from 2023 to 2025. It was relaunched in November 2026 by a new, independent team, rebuilt from scratch, with new tools and newly written articles. We have no connection to the people who ran the domain before, and none of their text or images are used here.
Who is it for?
People who need a picture of a post that isn't real yet, or shouldn't be shown for real.
Designers and marketers mock up launches and ads. Teachers and librarians build media-literacy lessons. Developers fill app screenshots with placeholder posts. Comedy writers make satire that's obvious as satire. And plenty of people just want to see how a post would look before they write it.
How do the tools work?
Everything is drawn on a canvas in your browser; there is no server-side processing, no account and no upload.
When you add a photo, your browser reads the file and draws it. It never leaves your device. Drafts are stored in your browser's local storage, and share links keep the settings in the part of the address after the # sign, which browsers don't send to servers. The site has no analytics, no ad scripts and no cookies.
Why is there a mockup label?
Because a convincing fake post can hurt real people, and a small default label is the cheapest protection we could think of.
You can remove it after confirming the image is a parody, design mockup or teaching example. We also never fetch real profiles or photos from X. Read the reasoning on our responsible use page.
How are the guides written?
By the site's editors, from X's own help pages and announcements, checked against the app itself, and dated.
Every guide shows when it was last updated. X changes fast: in 2026 alone it closed Communities, replaced its creator payout program and moved its API to pay-per-use pricing. When something changes we update the page and the date. If you spot an error, email us and we'll fix it.
Is this site connected to X?
No. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by X Corp.
X and Twitter are trademarks of X Corp. We use the names only to describe what the tools imitate and what the guides explain. The logos in the generator are simple shapes drawn by us, not X's logo files.
How can I contact you?
