How do I make a quote post mockup?
Write your own post as usual, then fill in the Quote post panel in Advanced mode with the post you're quoting.
- Set your profile and write your reaction in Post.
- Open Quote post (it's already on in this preset).
- Enter the quoted account's name, username, checkmark and date, then its text.
- Optionally add the quoted account's photo and an image inside the quote.
- Download as usual.
The quoted card follows X's layout: 20-pixel photo, bold name, checkmark, then @username and the relative date in gray, the text at 15 pixels, and an image across the bottom of the card.
What are quote mockups good for?
Showing a reaction in context: a brand responding to a review, a teacher commenting on a claim, or a design team showing how a share will look.
They're also the format most often used to make fake screenshots look credible, because the quoted card lends authority. If either post names a real person, keep the label on and read what's okay and what isn't.
Can I quote a post inside a thread or with a poll?
Yes: the quote card works with every other option, including images, polls, link cards and threads.
X itself shows the poll or media of the main post above the quoted card. Stacking everything makes a busy image, so most real quote posts have a short comment and nothing else.
Questions people ask
What is a quote post on X?
A repost with your own comment. The original appears as a bordered card under your text, and it links back to the original. X renamed Quote Tweets to Quotes when it dropped the Tweet name in 2023.
Can the quoted post have an image?
Yes. Add an image to the quote in Advanced mode and it fills the bottom of the card, as on X.
Where do quote counts show?
On X, quotes are counted with reposts and listed under the repost menu. The classic 2022 layout shows a separate Quote Tweets total under the timestamp.
