Questions people ask

Is the fake tweet generator free?

Yes, every tool is free with no account and no limit. There's no paid tier and no forced watermark.

Is it legal to make a fake tweet?

Making a mockup is legal almost everywhere. What can be illegal is how it's used: presenting a fabricated post as something a real person said can be defamation, and using it to pose as someone can be impersonation or fraud. Satire that's clearly satire is generally protected, but laws differ by country.

Do you store my images or text?

No. Everything is processed in your browser. We have no server-side code that receives images, and the site has no analytics or tracking.

How do I remove the MOCKUP label?

Tick the box confirming the image is a parody, design mockup or teaching example. The label switch then unlocks. You can also change the label to PARODY, EXAMPLE or FICTIONAL in Advanced mode.

Why can't I load a real account automatically?

We deliberately don't fetch profiles, photos or posts from X. Rebuilding a real account takes typing, which keeps casual impersonation out and keeps the tool independent of X's API.

Which layouts are available?

The 2026 X opened-post layout, the X timeline row, and the classic 2022 Twitter tweet page, each in Light, Dim or Lights out.

What image sizes can I download?

The post alone at 1x, 2x or 3x, or framed at 1080 x 1080, 1080 x 1350, 1080 x 1920, 1200 x 627, 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080 pixels, as PNG or JPG. PNG can have a transparent background.

Why does my emoji look different from X's?

X draws emoji with its own Twemoji-style images. The generator uses your device's emoji font (Apple, Google or Microsoft style), which is what you'd see in a screenshot from that device.

Does the generator work on phones?

Yes. On narrow screens the preview stays at the top while you scroll through the settings, and downloads save to your photos or files depending on the browser.

The text font isn't exactly X's. Why?

X uses its own licensed typeface, Chirp, which we can't redistribute. The generator uses your system's interface font with X's sizes and spacing, which is close to what X shows on devices where Chirp hasn't loaded.

Can I share my mockup settings?

Yes. Share settings link copies an address that rebuilds the post, minus any images. Nothing is stored on a server; the settings are encoded in the link itself.

Is this site affiliated with X or Twitter?

No. It's independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by X Corp.
