When a post has hundreds of replies, you rarely see them all at first. X sorts, collapses and filters. Most of the missing ones are a tap away.
Why don't I see every reply?
Because X ranks replies and collapses the ones it judges low quality or likely spam.
X puts replies from accounts you follow, from the author and from X Premium subscribers near the top. Replies that look like spam, are from very new accounts, or contain words you've muted are pushed down or folded away. Since 2026, subscribers can also mark replies with a private "dislike" signal that feeds this ranking; see the downvote button.
How do I see more?
Scroll to the bottom of the replies and tap Show more replies, then Show probable spam if it's offered.

- Change the sort. Tap the sort option above the replies (where available) to switch between relevance and most recent.
- Check muted words. Settings and privacy > Privacy and safety > Mute and block > Muted words. Muted terms hide replies.
- Open hidden replies. If the author hid replies, an icon on the post opens them.
Which replies can't be seen at all?
Deleted replies, replies from accounts you blocked or that blocked you, replies from protected accounts you don't follow, and replies from suspended accounts.
Since November 2024, blocked accounts can see your public posts but still can't reply or engage, so blocking changes what each side sees.
Can I search replies instead?
Yes: search conversation_id: followed by the post ID, or to:username with a date range.
